According to the transcript, mentions of "middle class"

Obama: 4
McCain: ZERO

(That's a repeat from the first debate.)

John McCain has now gone through both debates without mentioning the middle class!

They both almost did.. (none / 0)

Notice how they evaded the first question.. which was basically "You bailed out your friends on Wall Street, how about doing something for we retirees"

Neither adequately answered that question. Both tried to avoid mentioning how Americans have been swindled by Wall Street into giving them a HUGE amount of money with few strings attached. Sure, Obama mentioned getting back a tiny fraction of the money spent on AIG, but nobody mentioned Paulson's conflict of interest or removing him from the situation because of it. (The conflict came up REPEATEDLY in the hearings on the AIG and Lehman Bros. situations)

We need to make a clean sweep. We should throw this bailout out and go with McCain's plan to help homeowners ;)

(boy, I bet hs base are HAPPY about that one!)

And, in about 3 weeks, the middle class is going to forget about John McCain.
